The Temescal Pool was not only an important part of the Community. It created Community. And even in its absence, it is bringing people together.
The Pool brought joy and laughter, health, healing and happiness to thousands of people over its nearly 60 years of service to the Community. Now that the Pool needs help, the Community is showing up in droves to rescue the pool.

Donating. The Friends of Temescal Pool is run completely by volunteers, but there are still administrative costs to do all that is needed to do to save the pool. Those costs include web designers and administrators, email support, printing costs for signs, poster and banners; and underwriting costs for a variety of fundraising activities. All donations, large or small, are greatly appreciated. Click here or go to the Donations page on this website.
Pledging. In addition to covering administrative costs, it is important for us to demonstrate that the funds will be there to cover the $ 400,000 needed to put the pool back in proper operating condition. While these are expensive repairs, they cost a small fraction (c. 10%) of what it would cost to build a new pool. As a result, the Friends are encouraging people to pledge now how much they commit to donating when the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy agrees to repair and re-open the pool. If every Friend pledges $ 200, we will be there.
Volunteering. The active volunteers of the Friends of Temescal Pool are a delightfully talented, hard-working positive group. With the interest in and support for the Pool growing, however, we need more volunteers to help with all the work that needs to be done.
